Terms of Service

The rules for using Arche.

  1. 1Agreeing to these terms

    Arche is run by Heterodox Labs, Inc. (“we”, “us”), a Colorado corporation. By creating an account or using Arche, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you use Arche for an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

  2. 2Your account

    You must be 18 or older and give accurate information. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@archescience.ai if you think someone else has used it.

  3. 3A new service

    Arche is new and still changing. Features may change or be removed, and there may be bugs or downtime. Keep your own copies of important records. This matters most for Private-local items, which exist only in your browser and are lost if site data is cleared.

  4. 4Your content

    You own what you add to Arche. You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to run Arche, following the visibility you choose, including sending it to our AI provider when you use AI features as described in the Privacy Policy. Anything you make Public can be seen by anyone.

    Only add material you have the right to share. Do not upload other people's personal information without their permission, or patient health information.

  5. 5AI features

    Lab logs, summaries, assistant answers and literature results are generated by AI and can be incomplete or wrong. They are aids to your own work, not professional, medical, legal or safety advice, and not a regulatory record. Check them against your primary records and sources.

  6. 6Research safety and responsibility

    You are responsible for your experiments, including following your institution's safety, ethics, biosafety and regulatory rules. Arche does not supervise lab work. Do not use Arche to plan or carry out work that is illegal or meant to cause harm, including anything related to weapons capable of mass casualties.

  7. 7Acceptable use

    Do not:

    • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
    • harass, threaten or impersonate others;
    • upload malware or anything meant to damage systems;
    • try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or get around security or usage limits;
    • scrape Arche or send automated traffic that strains the service.

  8. 8Limits and plans

    Arche applies limits on file size, storage and AI usage to keep the service reliable, and these may change. Arche is free right now. If paid plans are introduced, we will say what they cost before anything is charged, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

  9. 9Other sources

    Literature results link to papers and sites run by others. Their terms and licences apply to that material, and we are not responsible for it.

  10. 10Ending use

    You can stop using Arche at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other people or the service at risk.

  11. 11Disclaimers

    Arche is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that Arche will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

  12. 12Limitation of liability

    To the extent the law allows, Heterodox Labs, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, research or profits. Our total liability for any claim about Arche is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.

  13. 13Governing law and disputes

    These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about Arche or these terms will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.

  14. 14Changes to these terms

    We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will ask you to review and agree again before you continue using Arche.
